We sat down with Jackie Groves—wife, mother, counselor, and all-around leader—to hear her take on priorities, and the myth of being able to “do it all…”  Her insight was golden as she explained her plan when it comes to making decisions that impact what she cares about most.

  • Realize that life is full of seasons and timeframes. We must be aware of which season we’re in to make good decisions that reflect our priorities.

  • Choosing one thing means you say no to another thing. At one point in Jackie’s life, she had to leave “the road” (traveling nonstop with her husband Daniel Groves) and focus on making a calm home for her family.

  • Sometimes the GRACE has left the season you’ve lived in. This means you’re no longer meant to stay there, and staying could impede your growth or the growth of your family.

Jackie talked about a painful time when they miscarried a child well into the pregnancy. They already had three children but felt sure God promised them four.  What do we do when our hopes are dashed, and we face the impact of not understanding God’s plan? Jackie explained:

  • People will say things hoping to help when truthfully—their words spur an infection to the wound. Because she already had kids, people minimized her pain. Wisely—she allowed herself to grieve the loss.

  • Ultimately Jackie showed us that regardless of the promise or outcome, we’re invited to praise Him. He knows why things happen. He’s crafting the outcome as He shapes and designs our circumstances.

We believe this powerful conversation will leave you feeling encouraged and inspired in your faith. Take a listen!
