Episode 18: New Year, New Word

Words have power. Words create worlds. When we select ONE word to be our focus for a year, we narrow a broad vision to a more intentional, manageable scope. When ONE word steers our vision for a year, we can accomplish so much more.

How to select a word for your year:

  1. PRAY and ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your mind a word that resonates or instructs. Don’t overthink it. It may be a common word like trust, release, hope…whatever surfaces, ask God what word He has for your year.

  1. WRITE your word somewhere that is easy to remember and easy to access so you can refer to it throughout the year. Go back to it often and record things that align with the word’s purpose in your life.

  1. SHARE your word with someone else. This can be something special within a family or among friends. By sharing your word, you allow other people to be a part of reminding and rejoicing! They can remind you of the word when you’re discouraged or moving away from a desired destination. They can also rejoice when you see reminders of how God faithfully follows through on his promises.

Gari’s word for this year is FLOURISH. Carla’s word for this year is DEVELOPMENT. Let us know your word is so we can be praying for you specifically as we head into 2021!
