Episode 57: Finding New Vision

Why do we get stuck in the shallows of faith rather than immersing ourselves in the deep? Often, we get stuck in ruts or behavior patterns that keep us from intimacy in our relationship with God. It’s in these ruts that we need FRESH VISION.

Fresh vision may be a new vision or a vision you’ve had for a while, but God wants to update it. He might want to edit your vision, and maybe even rearrange it, making it more delightful and empowering.

In this episode, we study Ezekiel 47:1-12. It’s a thought-provoking look at the vision of a prophet, a vision that identifies the stages to surrender, and what we need to do to stay fresh. As Ezekial wades into the river he sees in the vision, he first goes ankle-deep, then knee-deep, then waist-deep, and finally into the deep part of the middle of the river. After surrendering to the currents of God, he walks back to the shore and sees lush trees lining the banks, and fish teeming within the waters. The trees mean healing and the fish mean harvest—both products of surrender within the river.

Although this vision is exciting to study, it’s also practical. There are ways we must lean into God to receive fresh perspective and vision.

  1. Give God your full attention.

  2. Commit to unconditional worship.

  3. Live in the midnight hour.

This episode challenges us to look at our own “life vision.” Inviting God to refresh, edit, and rearrange our deepest beliefs and desires.
